Charles River Fish PIL A-C (HO Modules 1-4) Training Course

The first module of this training course covers the legal and ethical approach to using fish [e.g., zebrafish, salmonids (trout and salmon) and sticklebacks] in research. Animal handling, recognizing health and well-being, Schedule 1, and health and safety are covered in the second module. Anaesthesia and analgesia, fish diseases and biology, the application of scientific procedures and fish husbandry complete the third module, and delegates may complete the assessment at this stage. For those who require a firmer grounding in anaesthetic techniques or who are planning to undertake invasive surgery, the fourth module provides the background and practical experience in these disciplines.
