Rick has 4 decades of
experience in management and technology, and has been acknowledged as one of the
early leaders and innovators in development of business automation. Over the
last 22 years, Rick has been applying this expertise within the healthcare and
medical research arena, developing technology for both the management of
healthcare as well as tools for use in clinical environments, improving both the
bottom line and the quality of patient care. Rick has been involved directly
with the Arizona Heart Institute since 1988, and served as the Chief Operating
Officer until 2008, managing the day-to-day operational aspects of a
multi-location cardiovascular practice. Rick is responsible for the
implementation of wide ranging technological advancements in administration,
medical record keeping, research, and imaging modalities. Currently, Rick serves
as the President and CEO of the Arizona Heart Foundation, maintaining and
enhancing our position as a known leader in cardiovascular research, education
and patient care. Rick is dedicated to his wife of 19 years, Lisa, and their two girls; and has a passion for sports cars, teaching SCUBA as a PADI Master Instructor, and despite being asked politely by the local Sherriff’s office dive recovery team, refuses to jump out of helicopters for training exercises.
The Arizona Heart
Foundation Each year over 1 million Americans die from heart disease. Countless others survive cardiovascular events or are diagnosed with blood vessel and heart ailments, causing, in many cases, long recovery periods and lost productivity. The expenses related to this disease in our nation exceed $300 billion annually. For over 36 years the Arizona Heart Foundation has been dedicated to eliminating heart disease as a major health issue in the United States. Our cardiovascular education and research accomplishments, including recent Foundation-supported pioneering research initiatives on myoblast cell transplantation, gene therapy and laser treatments for heart and blood vessel disease are unparalleled. The Foundation has the vision and ingenuity in place that allows the AHF to support the shepherding of these treatments into universal healthcare practice so that countless heart disease sufferers will benefit. But we are missing one core ingredient -- you, the philanthropic partner. The Arizona Heart Foundation Board of Trustees has put in place a world-class Building that provides research physicians and support teams with the facilities and infrastructure to carry on. This Research and Education Center is the last step in making certain that revolutionary investigations can become lifesaving and universally applied therapies. To learn more about these and other important Arizona Heart Foundation research and education initiatives, select one of our research programs from the above list. Many generous individuals and corporations have united with the Arizona Heart Foundation Board of Trustees to make certain this vital research center became a reality. And now you can become a part of tomorrow's heart-healthy future by making a tax-deductible gift to the Foundation's cardiovascular research and education programs. Please don't wait another day to make “A Gift of Life.” |
